The Willie Gary Classic, Inc. is about more than football; it is about the game of life.  The organization began three years ago as an opportunity to raise awareness and encourage support of the football programs for two Historically Black Colleges, while providing scholarship opportunities for the students attending those institutions.  The Classic, Inc. has become a staple in the community committed to helping close the opportunity gap for youth by empowering students with the tools and resources to obtain a college education.  Outside of coordinating and managing two successful football competitions, current youth initiatives include: college and vocational education recruiting fairs; back-to-school supply drives; college preparation workshops; and an annual essay contest and luncheon commemorating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
